Has anyone been married by a pastor in the Philippines?
Is it correct that one of you has to be a member of that particular religion?
Sheina is Catholic and I'm church of England so we are finding it difficult to find the right person to marry us.

Just an idea of what the requirements will be if you and your partner intend to marry in a Catholic Church.
MARRIAGE BETWEEN A FILIPINA AND FOREIGNER INQUIRY FOR MARRIAGE REQUIREMENTS:
STEP 1. The foreigner will contact the bishop of the parish church first. This can be done by telephone conversation.
Step 2. The Filipina will contact the bishop of the parish church also for her own requirements and further instructions and ask for a schedule when to get the checklist of requirements from the office of the Msgr.
All documents must have a photocopy for office file.
Step 3. Clearance from the office will be issued as soon as the requirements will be completed.
This is for the DIOCESE OF DUMAGUETE (I'm not sure with other places)

Sheina has an appointment with a pastor tomorrow so hoping to have some good news later.
To get my CNI here should I be looking to get an appointment soon. Are they usually quite busy?

It's no longer required to secure CNI from UK
Take a look at some other recent threads on marriage by slip and you'll find all the needed info and links etc

Now I remember why I had a civil wedding in front of a Judge. :cwm24:
Needed about a tenth of those forms, took about 15 minutes and cost about 5 quid. :icon_lol:
Marriage certificate there and then (for a small fee), and both on the plane the next week.

That's what we did, and only Maritess mum & dad plus her sisters and that was the guest list, don't think we spent more than 50 or 60 quid including food transport and all fees also wedding over and done in less than half hour, no hassle at all! :xxgrinning--00xx3:

I didnt mind where I married or wearing what.... But I asked Harlene what she wanted. As for me, it was all about making her happy. As she has already made me the happiest man alive.
