Does BRP name need to be same as passport?

Hi All,

It is suggested by UKBA that you need to tell them about personal detail changes such as address and marriage (else possible £1000 fine!) so the question is does my wife passport name need to be the same name as the residents permit?
It is not possible to get the passport name changed yet due to the Filipino bureaucracy following her marriage and divorce in Hawaii (they just find it hard to accept it without everything being validated 100 times over:cwm23:)

Would this be the form? it doesnt really mention name change after marriage https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/application-for-a-replacement-biometric-residence-permit-brprc

Yes. Passport and BRP card must have matching details. If your wife will change her passport details, she needs to apply for a BRP replacement to match what's in the passport. But you cannot replace a BRP unless there are changes in the passport or it's lost/stolen.
