hi Noel,

the visa fee is £500 or 47, 500 in pesos..ur wife can pay thru Manager's check or depositing the payment at any banks stated at the website.if she pays thru MC she can book an appointment the same day and if she pay thru depositing it in the bank, make sure she brings a copy of her passport detailed pages and she can only book her appointment the next day. btw, booking the appointment online saves her time when she goes to the VFS next week.

when she submits it at the embassy they will going to ask her if she wanted it to be delivered at home or she will pick it up,in case she wanted it to be delivered she will have to pay the courier fee of 225 pesos.

re the application form, they still accept the old application form until November 9 and since ur wife will be applying next week the old form is still ok.

u can also visit the VFS Website..
http://www.vfs-uk-ph.com

goodluck on ur wife's application, I am sure everything will be alright..:)

Hello Noel,

Like Kimmi says the visa fee is ₤500 for settlement. She can either pay by managers check or prepaid to banks such as Metrobank, Standard Chartered, Bank of the Philippine Islands and Banco De Oro. She had to take with her photocopy of her passport data page.

She can schedule an appointment online at the VFS Service Center after one day from date of payment. The old visa form is only accepted until 9th of November 2007 beyond that she will have to use the new form online.

Good Luck on your wife’s application. I know she can make it.

Until 19th of November? She needs to use the new form from that date on. The old form still holds until 09th of November.

Manager's Cheque is an option or you can pay through the banks specified by our two ladies here. However, through my husband's experience, he needed to phone the participating bank first before he went there and paid the VISA fees because not all banks, say BPI, accept VISA payment transactions... They might direct you to other branch. My hubby went initially to Market!Market! BDO branch to pay the Visa fees over-the-counter but they told my husband that they only are issuing MC's to their account holders. He then went to BPI near there (because he neither have an account in BDO nor BPI that's why he chose to pay over-the-counter) yet BPI directed him to BPI Forbes Park branch. When he went to Forbes Park branch, his payment was then accepted but the BPI personnel admitted that they seldom perform such transaction that's why it took them so long before the transaction was completed.

I guess because the UK Visa payment has just been implemented recently in the said participating banks and not all branches of these banks are fully aware already of it...

Yes, so much hassle but I am looking forward to our bank personnel to be already familiar in handling transactions related to UK Visa fee payments...

Maybe, the UK Embassy just thought of implementing this for others' sake who do not have bank accounts and cannot buy MCs (since MCs are normally given to accountholders)...

took me an hour to pay my visa fee in bpi libis. the lady was uncertain of the amount. i was paying php47,500 for my settlement visa and she kept asking me "are you sure this is the right amount?" (no im not, i just thought id come in here and waste money!). she found a printed paper with the table fee on it and still uncertain as she said it might have changed due to the forex. i pateintly sat there not wanting to have an arguement with her. then she said to me how sure am i this was the right amount? i told her visit the website of uk vacs and the british embassy if not call her manager or someone who would know the "going fee". she said they are not used to dealing with uk visa application fees, any chance i would like to apply for the u.s. instead? now that was that! i demanded to see the manager who seemed to be a bot confused, made a few calls and i was out the bank in 10.

Yah, right. My husband told me too that the tellers in BPI do not know the amount that needs to be paid. They also asked my husband about the exact Visa fee. Actually, I do not even know if my husband was asked to pay bank service fee of Php50... :icon_lol:

I think they need enough time to get everything in order and be more familiar with the arrangement between the UK Embassy and the bank/s.

Hi regarding visa fee,

I asked my sister to get the new application form for me and when she was there at ukvacs,

A girl was complaining there bcoz they didn't accept her application form and visa fee ... the reason for this is she paid more than she supposed to pay for.
ex. Settlement visa is P47,500 and if you think your generous enough and make it P50,000 thats not going to be a good idea.

I think its better to know the exact visa fee and just pay the exact amount, but first know if that branch accept visa fee's coz some don't even know they accept it, lol

You must really do more research yourself before asking questions of this nature, its your responsibility to do your own basic research, like finding out what is the visa fee ? ridiculous, irritating, you are relying on some of the newer members here to get your questions answered, its the British Spouse/fiance's job to do all this for the Filipino applicant, all of the information you want is on the website of VFS Global and the British Embassy.

Stop Trolling !!!!

Right, those mentioned participating banks' staffs are not yet fully aware of the arrangement as they have just started to implement it...

Also, even though how generous a person seems and how he considers it, it is absolutely not a good idea to be unaware of the EXACT / ACCURATE VISA fee because some might be looking at it in a different way, like act of bribery. I know that it is not anybody's intention whatsoever nor have an inkling of such act but it would be the staff from UKVAC who will suffer from an innocent, simple act of accepting a different VISA fee... You get what I mean?

This matter requires intensive research to lead you to accurate results and information... This forum helps a lot all of us but the responsibility of confirming EVERYTHING is expected from our end as well because when we commit mistake, blaming any source (say, this forum) that is not part of the UK Embassy's is not a valid excuse and will give you a lot of hassles and pains.
