Can imagine most people would agree with this, so why can't it be done in Britain?

Against EU laws? Well Germany is doing it! Them and France are the ones in charge (Don't believe it - ask your MP, it's actually a fact)

We couldn't do it because we have insecure borders? Well if we can't secure our borders being a sodding island, nobody can. Germany has very porous borders.

Only explanation left - the politicians like it the way it is.
