How can I PM here please? There is no option on the person's profile page.

That's because, either they don't have the PM function because they have not made enough posts, or they have decided to disable the PM function.

Oh ok, thank you - thought I was doing something wrong.

Some people (particularly those who freely give lots of help and advice on the forum) may not wish to be pestered all the time with PMs, especially as there is a good search function.

Understandable really, considering the hundreds who view these pages every day.

Always better to just ask a question on the forum. That way, if somebody does have the answer, it can benefit everyone who may be in a similar position.

:iagree:, Graham ... much as it's nice to experience an awareness of the satisfaction derived from helping others, being endlessly bombarded with routine enquiries by Private Message can and often does heap an enormous amount of time-consuming pressure and responsiblity on a smallish core of our most knowledgeable individuals when, in fact, such information (as you've explained) is readily obtainable through the use of the Search Function and can be shared by ALL.

You need to be a Respected Member. For that you need at least 75 posts, and a good Reputation score.

Oh, ok. Thank you all very much.
