Being the Tuna Capital of the Philippines, you'd have a pretty good guess what kind of feat General Santos City just pulled off!
General Santos City set a new world record for the largest fish display in 15 minutes.
As a part of the ongoing Tuna Festival, Generals (citizens of GenSan) flocked to the General Santos Fish Port Complex to witness and be part of the bid.
Within 15 minutes, GenSan folk were able to display 33.61 metric tons, or a total of 916 yellow fin tuna, compared to the previous world record of 4.5 metric tons by the Netherlands.
The feat will be formally declared by officials of the Guinness Book of World Records in the coming days.
