EE not Vodafone. This has been coming for a few months. Networks are looking to increase profits as the EU clamps down on roaming charges, and Phones4u were just an affiliate company. If the networks sell directly, they make more money per sale.

It's a serious problem for a distributor of anything if the supplier refuses to sell to you. In this case as Keith says its EE & Vodafone that have pulled the plug.

I think a few years ago o2 tried kicking Carphone Warehouse into touch but they are back with them now

Looks like they were no longer needed :cwm24:

Mobile phone stores

Phones 4U - 550
EE - 520
02 - 450
Vodafone - 360 rising to 500

Feel sad for the people that might lose their jobs.

I have insurance with phones 4 u which means I get a new handset in store if I damage it so sad that I may lose that facility.
