Hello
vis
I have met a filipino girl and would like to take here back to England with me. She is a married lady but seperated. I would ideally like to get her a fiance visa but obviously whilst she is still married in eyes of the law this would be impossible. I was wondering therefore what the chances of her getting a Visitor visa so that she could come over whilst her annulment was getting sorted..Does anyone have any experience of this
Thank You
Paul

Welcome to the forum hitman! She can apply for a tourist visa while she's still ongoing on her annulment. You can search here in the forum as it has been discussed already. Or try to read their websites to get their requirements at www.vfs-uk-ph.com. Goodluck you will be guided by this forum.:)

welcome to the group hitman!
as far as i know unless she has a huge bank account, properties and a good job it be hard for her to get a tourist visa. but maybe its ok because if she has legal proceedings going on here in the philippines when she goes to the UK.. well thats a good reason for her to definitely come back.. aint it?
anyway i hope things work out.. =)

On the basis that she would have no legitimate reason to return, it is HIGHLY likely her visitor visa will be declined. Especially as she is married to another man.
You need to sort everything in the correct order.
You need to visit her, and she needs to get the annulment done, which will cost you a big wad of wonga, and a few months. Speed of the process, depends on how many brown envelopes you have.

Let's go back to the topic. Yes, Kimmi is right you can let your gf apply for a tourist visa while she is processing her annulment. Just follow the requirements in the checklist for a tourist visa. Annulment is a lenghty process whether you choose the package deal or not. Good luck....

Hello
vis
Does anyone have any experience of this
Thank You
Paul
Hi Hitman,
There are some points I`d like to share;
1. You must have met each other. You must come to the Phils to see her.
2. She have to demonstrate to the ECO that her purpose of coming to the UK is just visit and therefore she have to show to the British Embassy that she have reason to come back here, such as if she have properties, business, or permanent job.
In my case, when I applied for visit visa I submit a copy of my business permit and my bank statements . I think the fact that Ive been working abroad for several years helped. The ECO have to be sure that her purpose of coming to England living with you is genuine.
3.As her sponsor you have to prove them that you can support her and you have enough accomodation.
4. She also have to understand that as a visitor she is not allowed to work.
As the other day I went to the British Embassy and there was a man whose applying for a vistor visa and when the Officer ask him why he wanted to visit UK, he replied , he wants to work in the UK. Of course,he will be absolutely refused.
I remember on my first interview in the British Embassy, there are 4 filipinas applying for a visitor visa. One, me. Sponsored by my boyfriend (my fiance now) the second, sponsored by her sister, who got successful visa application like me then the other two filipinas were refused, the other one the reason of refusal was; the ECO said that he is not convinced that her purpose of coming to UK is genuine, as she fail to demonstrate that she have reason to come back to her country. The other one, got refused also because, she used an interpreter, she have a languange problem, she also declare a very big value of assets in the Phils. such as she have a big property in Tagaytay that cost more than 2million, where she declare that she only works as an office employee.
When the ECO ask me, why do I want to go to England? I replied
" My boyfriend have been here in the Phls twice , he met my family, he saw my country and therefore this time he wanted me to see his country and meet his family and also we wanted to see if we get on very well, then after that we will go to something more serious."
Then the ECO said, " Alright please take a sit and wait for your name to be called." Then, I got my first UK visit visa.
About annulment, make sure that she get a certification from the her lawyer to show to the British Embassy that the legal proceeding has been started and its on going. Although that is not in the list in the requirements of visit visa only if she will apply for a fiancee visa, but I suggest to have a certification from the lawyer to prove that she have another reason to come back to the Phils.
I hope this help.
Goodluck Hitman and welcome to the Forum.:)
