I've been with my girlfriend now for over a year. I want her living here in the uk living with me how do I go about this and how hard is it?

Just follow the appropriate links for your circumstances and you'll discover everything you need to understand the issues.

The major issue is compliance with the UKVI Financial Requirement.
If your annual income falls below £18600 then there's no point in making a visa application leading to settlement
Unless you are exempt, have cash savings above £16000 to fill an income shortfall gap or even cash savings of £62,500 and above for applications with zero income.
Or perhaps are willing to consider relocating to an EU country for a few months.
