Nicola Sturgeon. Ah well ... :anerikke: ... no surprises there - and (hopefully) even less chance of Cameron doing a 'U~turn' on his promise to enact additional devolved powers for Scotland. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Just wait and see what the snakes (Cameron and Osborne) come up with Arthur. I'm sure they will upset the Scots one way or another.

:laugher: I doubt it the locals have far more to worry about this........Liebor are pleading for Bottler Brown to get involved :-

Labour beg Gordon Brown to take on new SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon as a 'father of the nation' for Scots

Don't know much about her.

Don't know much about her.

:cwm24: ... that does surprise me, as she's been an ardent SNP activist since the age of 21 - is now 44 - and became Alex Salmond's Deputy when the Nationalists gained control north of the border in 2007.

Pah! :laughitupsmilie: ... don't you believe it, mate :nono-1-1: ... she definitively lacks Ms Susan Boyle's "sweet dulcet tones" :veryhappy: and (to the best of my knowledge) doesn't play the bagpipes; although ...

A real "nippy sweetie" to use the local expression....

... good at "blowing her own trumpet" :xxparty-smiley-050: - and, as for being a "nippy sweetie" - yes ... you could say that.

After the SNP victory at the 2007 Scottish Parliament election, Sturgeon was appointed Deputy First Minister and Scottish Health Secretary. My late colleague and friend Sam Galbraith was Health Minister in Scotland’s first devolved government – he was a true Surgeon :xxgrinning--00xx3: .

Unlike many of the modern day politicians she has had a career outside of politics which is to be admired.

The fact that she was unopposed for the leadership gives her strength within her own party which with the exception of Farage is something that none of the other political leaders enjoy.

Absolutely, Marco, :iagree:! Can't wait :Jump: to see her in action ... mounting a real challenge to Cameron, Milibrat - or whoever's in power at Westminster following next year's General Election.

Whilst I've been somewhat (dare I say?) judgemental about Salmond and Sturgeon in the past ... there's no denying that, between them, those two political stalwarts have worked their arses off to finally convince the boffins at Westminster there is a lot more to :Britain: than 'England' ... and for that reason, if for no other, I am grateful!
