Chatting to my girlfriend, she has said the English Test is 1200 pesos and you can also have a review. From what I can understand, the review is some teaching and testing to help you pass, and this costs around 6000 pesos,

Any ideas from anyone and how difficult is the test?

Find it hard to believe any Filipino failing the test as most have better English skills than me.

My wife did hers a few months ago - without the extra review help - and she passed fine.

Saying that, when I read through the examples myself, I felt it important for my wife just to go through the self practice tests a few times so she knew what to expect on the day. Only you two will know how good your girl's English is. All I will say is, some of the costs associated with visas can get stressful, but it's all worth it in the end :)

Hi Mac
How confident is your g/f with her English ?

She only needs a passing grade for Listening and Speaking.

Remember also that IELTS test has a minimum pass at level B1
The UKVI requirement for UK visa at entry is considerably lower at A1 level.

Maybe I misunderstood, but Tomboo said, "when he read through the examples", as if their is a practice paper for the test

Your girlfriend only needs to take the General Training tests for Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking (although UKVI will only be interested with the Listening and Speaking). The Academic tests are for those who want to work as nurse, doctor, etc.
