Hello Everyone,
Greetings, I have some questions about how to apply a visa for my son living in the Philippines at the moment.
I recently got my ILR, and I wish to bring my son here to the UK. I am a bit confused about how the online visa application works and about how to pay the visa.
Hoping someone can help me.
Many thanks,
Lil

Hello Lil welcome aboard Filipino UK :welcomex:
As a first step may I suggest a review the UKVI
Visa Frequently Asked Question's (https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/Home/ViewFAQ ) here.
I'd then suggest reading through the following forum threads which I'm sure will help:-
Child's Settlement Visa- Please help (http://filipinaroses.com/showthread.php/51473-Child-s-Settlement-Visa-Please-help!?highlight=Visa+for+my+child )

Don't be shy to ask any specific questions you need help with :xxgrinning--00xx3:
Take special note of the links and info relating to Sole Responsibility.

Thanks very much Terpe. Yeah about the Sole Responsibility we do support my child and his father is dead and I left him under the care of my mother and continuously sending financial need under my mother names because he is minor, and my another question is do I need to fill up the the Appendix 2 of VAF4 for fnancial requirements?
Many thanks

I'm guessing that your visa application for entry to UK was as spouse/fiancee and that you are considered under the immigration rules prior to 9th July 2012.
In which case (and since you are ILR holder) your child is eligible for ILE (Indefinite Leave to Enter) and there's no requirement to meet the financial requirement income threshold.

Yes, my entry to UK was on a spouse visa and I just got my ILR recently.
Many, many thanks Terpe :)

I'm confused about it. One more question. What type of form have I to fill in for my son visa? Please help, I am really confused as I don't really understand the online Application. I am here in UK, my son who's the applicant is in the Philippines. Thanks so much.

Your child is the applicant.
You need to use Appendix 1 (VAF4A)
Here's the link to the paper form just for your review and understanding:-
APPENDIX 1 (VAF 4A JULY 2012)- FAMILY SETTLEMENT & FAMILY REUNION (https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/261439/vaf4a1.pdf)
YOU SHOULD COMPLETE THIS FORM IF YOU WISH TO COME TO THE UK AS:
• The adult dependant relative of a person who is present and settled in the UK; or
• The adult dependant relative of a person with limited leave to enter or remain in the UK as a refugee or as the beneficiary of humanitarian
protection; or
• The child of settled parents or with one parent who has limited leave as a partner or parent granted under the Rules in force before
9 July 2012.
Hope that helps.

many thanks Terpe, I have Question again do I need to fill in the sponsor undertaking form?
As can be seen from the form Appendix 1 It's a personal choice.
The form states:-
2.16 If you are applying for indefinite leave to enter, has your sponsor completed and signed the Sponsorship Undertaking Form confirming that they will maintain and accommodate you without recourse to public funds for 5 years? See guidance notes for further details. Put a cross (x) in the relevant box
2.17 Have you submitted the Sponsorship Undertaking Form with your application? Put a cross (x) in the relevant box
Yes / No
If ‘No’ please give full reasons why this is not enclosed with your application below:
Some folks here have included it and some others have not. Depends on your personal circumstances and the current age of the child.
The Sponsorship Undertaking Form is really aimed at dependent relatives over 18 years of age.
It's hard to imagine just which public funds your child would claim.
Most claims on public funds in connection with a child would be made by yourself or your partner. Which you are perfectly eligible to do
If you child will remain under 18 for the next 5 years then no harm in including the form.
If you have any concerns please contact UKVI and ask them.
Sorry I cannot give you a definitive answer on non mandatory documents.

I have Question again do I need to fill in the sponsor undertaking form?
You don't need to fill in the sponsor undertaking form - just the the Appendix 1

Hi folks, Lil's hubby Simon here.
Sorry to go over old ground but we are still confused regarding which appendix to fill in.
Lil arrived in the UK on 28/12/2011
ILR was granted in July this year.
Are we covered using the pre June 2012 rules or are we post June 2012.
Having read through I think we just need appendix 1 but any confirmation help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Simon

Simon, it's 'old rules'. Pre July 10 2012.
Your wife was granted ILR after 2 years
Under new rules (after July 2012) she'd need to wait 5 years before being eligible for ILR
:xxgrinning--00xx3:
Appendix 1 is the correct form per post #9
