Hi everyone, just chatted to my gf Riechelle after her English test for our fiancé visa.

Two questions:

1. Some of the other girls mentioned a CFO and said we will need this. But I have no idea what a CFO is. Any help someone?

2. The examiner said to all the people taking the test that even if you pass, the Embassy might - or might not - accept their exam result.

Why would she say that?

Any help is most welcome, thank you

Mac:-

1. CFO is the localised abbreviation for 'Commission For Filipinos Overseas' - set up [purportedly] to protect the interests of those settling abroad - e.g., either to work or through marriage. It entails going to a morning's guidance counselling seminar ... at the conclusion of which, a Certificate of Attendance is issued. It is also a compulsory requirement of the Philippines' Government in accordance with its laws, and a person cannot travel to his/her new destination without it. :NoNo:

2. Stupid woman! :icon_rolleyes: (the English Test Examiner, I mean!)

Quite honestly ... there's NO earthly reason why the Embassy would refuse an Application for Settlement ... providing the applicant fulfils the necessary prerequisites, including - most importantly - through demonstrating an acceptable standard of competence in the English Language and proof that the sponsor earns a gross annual income of £18,600 or above.

I trust the foregoing explanation will help to set your mind at ease. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

That's fantastic help, I know this sounds stupid but I've been through this before with my first Pinay wife but it was either different back in 2004 or it was such a bad experience my mind has blanked it all out. Thanks for your help :)

Hello Mac. Arthur is right. As long as your partner complies all the necessary requirements, she's good to go for the application. I'm not very sure which examiner you are referring to. Is it with the English test?
