View Full Version : South African father told he cannot stay in UK with family - because his wife doesn't earn enough

Judge Michael Wilson said that while Mr Engel has the right of a private and family life with his wife and 18-month-old daughter Nyana, he did not have the automatic right to do that in the UK.

“I consider her [Nyana] to be young enough to easily adapt to life there,” he said.

Such cases do serve to point out the unfairness of the current system towards Brits, but 'rules is rules'. :anerikke:

I'd guess that would be her total business revenue and not her taxable earnings.

They met in 2009, lived in SA for 4yrs, he must have come to the UK on a visit visa in 2013 :cwm25:

As harsh as it is, it would be unfair on others who applied for the correct visa or who had to wait because of the minimum financial requirement if they were granted a visa
