Hopefully this will be resolved without loss of life (except that of the :censored: responsible).
Another country that has made a rod for its back by admitting huge numbers of people from backward cultures who will not integrate. :NoNo:

Haron was born Manteghi Bourjerdi[citation needed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)] in Iran where, as an ayatollah (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayatollah)[citation needed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)], his liberal interpretation of Islam led to the detention of his wife and children.[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheikh_Haron#cite_note-1) Bourjerdi fled Iran to Australia in 1996 as a refugee, and changed his name to Man Haron Monis, assuming the title of Sheikh Haron.

Sadly this can happen if one lives in soft western nations who put their citizens at risk by allowing these scumbags in. TBH it could be far worse - link to related thread

You wonder if the Aussie security forces messed up on this - if a camera man can get a clear shot why didn't the snipers? :Erm:

My brother was possibly in the SAS. He was based in Hereford for 20 years and he will never admit nor deny it.

I heard on the news that Lindt cafe used to be a bank, so that glass may even be bullet resistant.

Probably a a tall story Fred I doubt if it would resist a .50 cal and the banks would only have toughened glass in front of the cashiers. I suspect the authorities/security forces messed up and were looking for some sort of bottling appeasment - it was only one terrorist not multiples creeping around. Tragically this resulted in the deaths of honest, brave & decent people.

I agree Dedworth.
No way would banks waste money on that area of plate glass.
A sniper should have put one in his forehead.
Next time maybe...but too late for the dead innocents. :NoNo:
