Hi

What SIM card would be good for the Cebu area, to make calls, texts and lots of data?
Thanks

Nigel

I bought a sim on the Smart network, 1000php unlimited data for a month and then a 300php top up will get you unlimited smart to smart calls and unlimited texts.
Be warned the reception is not what we're used to and 3G is very slow :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Hi Nigel. You can choose any from the 3 (Globe, Smart and Sun). I experienced having all 3 and most satisfied with Sun because it is the cheapest when it comes to texting my loved one here in the UK (Php5/texts, Php10 call/minute). What I noticed the moment I was based in Cebu is that there are a lot of Globe users. I was there during the typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda and it is the only network that had service.

SimonH is right, the reception is not as good as in the UK..

For me, I use Globe and get their supersurf promo which gives you unlimited data. The promo is 50 pesos a day or 200 for five days or 999 for 21 days.

Is it Php999 for 21 days? I had mine for 30 days :xxgrinning--00xx3:

When in the Philippines I used Smart it was less than two pesos for texts, but when Maritess played with it she did something that enabled me to text for free also had free calls up to 15 minutes, btw the smart card I was using I've had it for many years and it's still my roaming number I just keep it activated through 'Calling Now' :xxgrinning--00xx3:
