I can,t get into the swing of things here with the missus on the other side of the planet. my New Year resolution is to get her here by the end of the year using the unmarried partner visa route and I,ll need all the advice and help from you guys in any shape or form. I am not very good at form filling and red tape so no doubt it,s going to be a bumpy road.

We all fully understand those emotions that's for sure.

I'm sure you'll get through the UKVI journey by hook or by crook.

Good luck to you both.

Try not to worry Brian, when the time comes you will be successful and I'm sure all the help you need will be readily available through the help of all or most members of the forum. Just don't be afraid to ask. Like me, not everyone is a whizz kid with answering questions and understanding all the different meanings of questions. Just try and enjoy the festive season for now and don't punish yourself thinking about the application. Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year :xxparty-smiley-050: and don't forget to call your good lady to tell her you love her and can't stop thinking about her. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Bad news today. According to one of those immigration lawyer,s email, I can,t get my missus to UK on a partner visa until she,s free to marry or otherwise annulled. Talk about depressed! Now, from what I,ve read, she had to be separated from her husband for at least 3 years to qualify for an unmarried partner visa. So who,s right and who,s wrong??

Cheers lads, on a downer at the moment. I,ve sent some dosh to the missus and told her to start the ball rolling. Saying that, I,ve just had an invite to Germany for my brother,s wedding - so maybe Schengen route might be a possibility. Brother is sending out invitations addressed to my missus and myself, so let,s see how this pans out.

Chin up Brian, things could be a lot worse and I'm sure you will get there in the end with perseverance. After all, good things are always worth waiting for :xxgrinning--00xx3:

I have experience of being a sponsor for an Unmarried Partner's Visa, different circumstances to your own as my brother's partner had never married but same process. We completed the successful application between us using Skpe for discussion and clarification whilst she was in Philippines and I was here in UK.

I don't know anything about Schengen visas but good luck with that route if it's feasible

That,s what I thought. I knew there was something about being still married.
