Hello everyone, my name is Joy. I am just new here in Scotland - nearly six month now - and I love the scenery here, it's really picturesque. I live with the family of my husband and they are amazing! So warm - though it's made me only a li'l bit homesick, Well, of course, I miss my family back home in the Philippines, but coping with the cold now, thankfully.
Since I'm not allowed to do some jobs, my remedies for boredom are crafting, taking pictures, watching movies, and reading books. I do some beads and make jewelry. It's paper beads and plastic beads and I also make flower vases from old paper. That's keep me busy here.
It's Just that since the first day I've been here in Ardrossan, I never seem to meet any filipina or filipinos here. I always go to church every Sunday, however. So guys, if there's anyone living in (or near) Ardrossan, can we meet up? I'm longing to see my fellow pinoy here.
Cheers Guys!
Nice to meet you here :)

Joy, :meet-1:
Ardrossan eh? Ah ... brings back fond childhood memories of crossing over to the Island of Arran by ferry with my parents and younger brother in the late 1940s~early 50s - a long, long time ago!
Whilst on the subject of boats, :welcomex: "aboard" filipino/uk - as well as to 'Bonnie Scotland' - you'll soon discover we're a very friendly bunch.

Hi Joy,...for a moment there I thought you were the friend of my wife ... she has the same name as you and has been over here in Scotland for 6 months now. Just a coincidence though as Joy has now returned to Cebu yesterday. Welcome to Scotland !

Hi Arthur,
Oh we're planning to go to Arran this coming summer. I also heard that Arran is a historical island. And hey, I can see the view of Arran from my window and its really fantastic. And also, I have some photographs of Arran that I can share with you. :)
Thanks for welcoming me.

No need, Fred  ... I can enlighten you!
Ardrossan is a small(ish) coastal town (population just over 11,000 as part of a conurbation with neighbouring Saltcoats and Stevenston) in Ayrshire.
Located approximately 35 miles south west of Glasgow - and [usually] well under an hour's travelling time by train from the City's Central Station - its harbour serves as the principal ferry port for most of the Islands in the Firth of Clyde.

Oh ... that'll be nice; "Scotland in Miniature", Arran is often called. GREAT too, you're able to view the beautiful outline of its distant hills from your kitchen window every day.
And also, I have some photographs of Arran that I can share with you. :)
:yeahthat: would be lovely ... :thankyou:
