For some.

A guy I've known for years although not a friend as such went to the shop to buy some cigarettes this week. While he was there he decided to buy a scratchcard and won £250,000. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Lucky devil. Hopefully he'll have a few years left in which to enjoy it.

I gave up smoking last July and haven't touched one since. No 'substitutes' either since last September.
There is no way I will ever reach into my pocket for money to burn again. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

I gave up scratchcards until I heard this and bought one myself and won.

£2.

I was brought up a Methodist, and even though now a devout Atheist, some things stick. All forms of gambling are a turn-off for me. Uneasy about alcohol too, but the womanising...well...:Erm:

:appl: Well done Graham - 15 years for me, I was talking to a business associate yesterday who'd done 8 years but he'd also kicked booze into touch. I don't think I could do that

I'm virtually tee-total too. Can take or leave booze. Can't bear spending money on it these days. Not so bad in the Phils of course.

Likewise.

I'm sure my star turns on the Karaoke would just not be the same without that thimbleful of San Mig. :cwm25:

Well, I'm the opposite to most of the contributors to this thread, in that, I've never really acquired a liking for alcohol :66: ... except for [sweet] cider (which is more my ":tea_cup5:") because it of its similarity in taste to soft drinks - which I very much prefer - but, at the ripe old age of three-score years and ten, I continue to derive great satisfaction from pipesmoking (at one time referred to as the 'thinking man's companion') which I've happily indulged in since my late teens without any noticeable ill effects ... so far, touch wood!

:yeahthat: particular habit could be construed as being my "vice" in these politically correct times ... but I don't give a damn!

OK, :cwm25: ... the foregoing is unlikely to earn me any "brownie points", but ... :anerikke: ... "everything in moderation", I say - and I believe in being honest.
