What would you do if you won the lottery and it was a big amount, go public or just keep quite and move away?

Me, I would move away after sorting things out and would never ever go public at all, but I would tell all my friends on here

I would imagine it would be very difficult not to tell anyone even though you would not want to say a word about your winnings!:Erm:

I'd keep very quiet about any lottery jackpot win.

But I'd have some great fun with a hugely extended bucket list :Jump:

A couple from Scunthorpe won £1 million on the Euro Lottery for the second time this week.

If I won £53 million I'd keep quiet about it as it will ruin friendships but I'd only keep one million of it. I'd set up a dog shelter in the UK and sponsor loads of poor kids in the Phils. I might even set up a pharmacy where people can get free medicine.

 ... shows it can be done! Although the £53 million Steve mentions is way beyond the reach of [almost] everyone ... :anerikke: ... a guy who was at school with me in the 1950's - and who, 4 decades later, happened to be Sales Manager for the firm that fitted my double glazing - scooped 3/4 of a million :yikes: several years ago. :cwm24: Following which, of course, this bloke has been living the "Life of Reilly" after retiring immediately!

Now there I'm at an advantage...in not having any friends. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

What about world peace?

I would probably build a larger garage and buy more cars. Sorry :anerikke:

If you won the lotto and lots of cash too, you made sure all the family was well taken care of, but how long do you think it would be before the family starts to ask for more, it's hard to say no when they say it with a smile too remember

That's the problem. Once you say no, the arguments start.

If I won I would leave for the Philippines as soon as possible.

Then I would set up some kind of foundation to help kids and the most unfortunate in between travelling around the world. I would also help select family members who have stood by me.

I would keep it secret from my work colleagues as hospitals have a lot of ears and gossip. I wouldn't go public. I think that would make life hard.

I'd keep it quiet too Cheekee. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

People might wonder what I was doing driving a McLaren P1 though. :icon_lol:

The £53m winners are actually from Lincolnshire not far from me. See if I can be friends with them I need the money to pay for my wife"s visa.
After going to see her in Ph last Dec I tried to get a train ticket home after landing back in UK but my bank card was declined & Bank account was max overdrawn £850 which I couldn't have done.

I should have had about £300 left so must have suffered card fraud while in Phillipines. Problem is the bank agreed but only refunded £430 which I didn"t realise until now cos they didn't let me know. (about £1200 was taken out in total) don't know what to do & it has left me struggling financially. I have a disability (poor eyesight) so don't have to meet £18.6k income req. but if I don't get the money back there's no way I can afford wife's visa.

Ha! :yeahthat:'s what you might think :icon_rolleyes: ... but it's surprising how quickly word spreads around :76: and then you'd find how soon those of the "fairweather" sort came flocking out of the woodwork.
