I like it had it on my Moto for a month or so it's the stock version so not clogged up with phone manufacturer / network bloatware

From what I have read it should be coming soon on the S4. This month hopefully.

Raynaputi is your S4 unbranded ?

You made me realise I have my S4 as a backup phone and I checked and I was able to update it to lollipop OTA.

I'm not sure about my phone being unlocked because I haven't tried any other sim with this. I also have Vodafone apps preloaded in it when I got this almost 2 years ago. I didn't buy this from any other store and bought it directly from Vodafone.

I think yours might be locked Rayna as I believe all phones are locked to whatever network you bought them from except o2. On the actual Android system my understanding is there are 3 types ;

Pure or stock - on Nexus, Motorola & Lenovo phones
Phone Manufacturers - ie I bought an unlocked HTC from Amazon and the Android was preloaded with unremovable HTC apps
Network - phones bought from a network like yours which will have both manufacturers apps and network apps - both unremovable

Yes I think yours is a vodafone branded/locked handset. What I meant by unbranded was that the handset wasn't supplied by a mobile provider and isn't locked to one provider. I think yours is the vodafone one with the added vodafone bloatware. Sometimes the software updates come out later for those phones because vodafone etc add their own software to it and test to make sure its working properly.

According to sammobile though the vodafone lollipop update has been available for download via Samsung Kies since 2nd April.

http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-I9505/VOD/

Go to settings-My Device-About phone-Software updates and check for update.

If that doesn't work install and run samsung kies on the PC and connect your S4.

http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/

Apologies if you already know how to do this.

Are the lollipops to be taken after the tablets Arthur?

I think I'll wait for a couple of weeks to see if I'll get the updates. I do think the updates for Vodafone will be later coz it was like that with the Kitkat version. If by next month I still don't have the updates, I'll download it manually from Samsung Kies.

Thanks guys. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

I remember with my friends samsung galaxy S2 that vodafone removed the "over the air" option to update and you could only use kies. It may well be the case with the S4. I'm not really sure but you may have to use kies.

My Virgin mobile Nokia Windows phone wasn't locked.

Then again...small consolation for me not having chosen the Android Samsung instead. :cwm3:

Most handsets from carphone warehouse are unlocked and unbranded no matter what network you chose . I have always got my handsets from there and have been able to upgrade using stock firmware.

I will be sticking with this Nokia Lumia until it dies...now that it's paid for. I use my (Android) tablet mostly anyway.

I'll be sticking with my little Nokia C1, because I only have to do a £10 top up about twice a year, also it hasn't rung yet this year I just get a couple of texts from Lebara about twice a year and the odd text from Maritess to let me know that her hours have been extended at work, also I've not made a call this year yet. Now, that's what I call cheap phone use!:xxgrinning--00xx3:

I just got the Android Lollipop update thru my phone this morning! :xxgrinning--00xx3: Although I had to do it 2x because the download/update has to have 3GB of space and I only had 1.7GB left. I had to uninstall some of the apps that I stopped using. :icon_lol: So far, the new firmware is looking good.
