Whats your job to do today, mine well its to defrost the freezer, yep the second lots of hot water is in there and its doing the job,
The nest is the garden, and if Ems is working all day its back to my sisters to finish hers of, if Ems is not working its down to farm foods to restock the freezer, aint life grand some times

What a coincidence my first job was defrost the freezer too.
I'm going to buy a new fridge freezer, this one we have is driving me mad. Probably costing me too :NoNo:

Next is to help the missus with some washing. With multiple changes of clothes each day it gets to be a daily chore.
I'm going to buy a new washing machine too. The old one is just a plastic contraption the rotates the washing in huge quantities of water. Talk about old fashioned.
My wife rinses and wrings by hand before putting into the spinner I bought her.
Seems everyone does the same.
Not me. I'm off to buy an automatic tomorrow.
Before anyone tells me how expensive they are here.....I already know. But cheaper to run and saves time too.:biggrin:

We bought another top loader auto last week.. The other one was only 2 years old and the electrical programming went pear shaped... GRR. Another 14K to part with.

Maritess can only use a rice cooker, I do all the housework and my own cooking of roast dinners, I've been doing these things since I was about six years old, it was the way my generation were brought up and I love it!:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Was just looking at cycle trailers Graham but they cost more than a brand new washing machine!!
Make one.. Cant be a lot different from those ole go carts we used to make out of a couple of old wheels and a plank of wood.

Its better like that Art.. Run it in the back yard,and after it has finished wash cycle pull out the clothes and let them drip dry on the line.. No need for ironing and the kitchen floor wont get wet..

Michael, I saw a SMEG fridge/freezer in S&R Shopping.
Not sure exactly which model, but it was big bold and obscenely expensive at P182000 :biggrin:
It had all the whistles and bells, but didn't score well on running costs due to the higher power.
Only 12 months warranty

I have my eye on a Samsung model at a much more modest price of P22000
It has a special compartment to guard against shortish power outages and the costs and efficiency ratings are excellent. Inverter technology and a full 5 years warranty.

I do like Italian styling but there's a limit on how much I'll pay for style against practical performance.

Maybe SMEG is cheaper in UK

We always had Miele appliances before. Not what you'd call stylish but old fashioned German durability :icon_lol:
