A friend of mine was out in the Philippines, and he had had a few drinks with a mate of his from Alabama when a balut seller came up to them offering his wares. My friend bought a balut egg and offered a spoonful to the Alabaman. He took one look at it, face aghast:omg:and said in a thick drawl "I ain't eatin' that s***"! Couldn't have put it better myself.

I eat balut, but not the duck embryo. I once tried eating it and some of the feather got stuck in my throat and I almost :vomit-smiley-011:. I usually just prefer penoy. :biggrin:
