I wasn't sure what the difference was between the A30 & A35 I thought it was maybe 2 & 4 door.

The A35 had the bigger back window...so easy to tell apart. :xxgrinning--00xx3:
There were also mechanical improvements to the later car...which survived up until 1968 as the A35 van.
You had to pay an extra £9 if you wanted a heater in the A30. :icon_lol:
Actually we didn't need one as my dad had the car imported to Singapore when we were living there.
Must have been the the smallest 4 door car ever made too. :Erm:

Didn't it have the the same A Series Engine used later in Minis etc ?

Yes, you're right Dedworth. Only 803cc in the A30, going up to 948cc in the A35. (First Mini engine was 848, but still A-series).
The A30/A35 engine was shared with the early Morris 1000s too.
Did you know that the original Mini prototype was fitted with an A35 nose to help disguise it when it was being 'road-tested' ?

Then I suppose they got it up to 1275cc - amazing that it lasted right through to the Metro. I remember about 25 years ago on the M40 following a Rover 200 estate car being "road tested" - they'd pretty much covered the back section & rear windows in brown tape

Yes, I was always a bit of a Ford man. I only wish I'd kept some pictures of the many different Capris and Cortinas I've owned...and in some cases totally rebuilt and customised.
...Will have a rummage around.
