In celebration of Cunard, for the first time ever, the three Queens they own will be meeting up in the Mersey. Good to see that it is not important enough for the news channels. Yet, if it happened in the Thames it would be live on Sky and the Beeb!

Were any of these ships even built in this country ?

I wonder if the city will be celebrating how they became prosperous from their maritime history of SLAVERY. :cwm25:

Thank goodness for the Beatles. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

The whole of the UK became prosperous due to the slaves coming in at Liverpool. Once they reached there, they then got sent off to work for the mater elsewhere in the country.

...and Cunard are now based in Southampton.

If I was a Liverpudlian I'd tell them to :censored: off back there with their foreign-built ships...unless they want to bring some BRITISH jobs to Merseyside.

Correct both P & O Cruises and Cunard are owned by the yanks Carnival Cruises UK HQ Southampton where in 2012 they had all 7 P & O Liners sail in line (Princess Anne was aboard one of them). Do Cunard sail out of Liverpool ?

Big and ugly...like a blinkin block of flats.

Makes me sick thinking of what a fantastic world-beating shipbuilding industry this nation ONCE had. :NoNo:

Yes. They sail in on regular trips, but this was the first time all three met in the Mersey.

I think the news channels showed a few minutes, but the whole this was on YouTube, including the Red Arrows. :xxgrinning--00xx3:
