Great place, lovely food too. Make sure you pre-book your Vatican (Cistine Chapel) and Colleseum tickets online. You will avoid a 3 hour queue at each location (seriously huuuuge queues!).

Definitely have Rome on my "to visit" list, looks wonderful and I know my son really enjoyed a short break there a couple of years ago!

Some very useful advice offered by Trefor, hope you have a fab time!:xxgrinning--00xx3::smile::xxgrinning--00xx3::smile:

Have a good run ashore Steve - watch out for the Roma germs but I understand the Carabinieri deal with them in a suitably robust fashion

I hate queuing, I would rather walk away, we are going to fast track the Vatican but the rest we shall see, been there before but without my camera head, so I will see it from a different view this time, I have pre warned Ems no high heels, lots of walking to be had

Have a great time you both :Jump:

Watch those prices Steve. A few minutes round the corner can save you plenty :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Keep Emma away from Via Condotti :yikes:

Thanks gang, just booked the tour of the Vatican through Dark rooms, now called Citywonders,
Monday afternoon tour starts at 2.30pm meeting on the steps across the road from the Vatican Museums entrance, looking forward to this and just wondering around seeing the sites, Ems is wanting to go to the Sunday morning mass with the other FIVE thousand folk who wants to see a speck of a man saying something or other, but i am not wanting to rush there and think my god what am I DOING HERE , but stranger things have happened at sea they say

Peter i know you did this a few years back , and i know you are not allowed to take pictures in the Sistine chapel , also they say you cannot take large bags with you,
Did you take your camera for to use later, and did you just hang it around your neck,
Because we are out all day i shall have my camera equipment with me a camera bag with my lenses in , is this too large to take do you think?
I will not hold you responsible if i am not allowed in or even wish i did bring my camera acting on your advice :biggrin:

You will be fine. It is only one 'room' where you are not allowed to take photographs. I took pictures all the way around the rest of the place.

Hope you both have a great time Steve. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Eh, while you're there mate, ask them if they can send some more rock for that Hadrian's Wall. Looks like we'll be using it again soon. :olddude:
