The tuna sold in Aldi is also often from Philippines, but it's not that surprising as many of these companies just re-brand a can.
An amusing thing to compare is corned beef if you like that sort of thing. Now all the different brands just stick their own label on the same can, from probably the same source. It's all stamped Brazil and with a number, and the cans are identical. Pay an extra 30-40p if you like a certain brand.
Recently though, the can has come from France, it's not as good and the key to open it is a LOT harder to use (And since it's a square can, it's very tricky to open with a normal can opener.
All the companies though have switched to the French source, that's the thing - it's the same DAMN THING just with a different label or own brand label.
