For once the judge ignores the sob story I wish they all did - sentence should have been much longer, 5 years on bread & water

That's another thing the Govt ought to address the grubs should serve the full sentence handed down with only say 5 or 10% off for "good behaviour", any "bad behaviour" should automatically be rewarded with more time inside. With the absence of hard labour, hard men warders, corporal punishment etc etc we need a proper carrot and stick regime

Well now, throughout the 14+ years (March 1975 ~ April 1989) I was employed as Records Officer for the Social Work Unit at HM Prison Perth, inmates generally served 2/3 rds of their sentences before they became eligible for release. Subject to "good behaviour", of course! Therefore ... :anerikke: ... unless things have changed and/or the English penal system differs from that north of the Border, this woman will, by my reckoning, remain incarcerated for sixteen months.
