You are walking into town and i bet you hear those magic words, COULD YOU SPARE A LITTLE CHANGE?
Well today i heard the best yet, this lady was walking towards us, and the next minute she spoke to Ems: "Excuse me could you give me some money so i could buy a cold drink and some food as i am hungry?" She then flicked the ash off her fag. Ok, i should have let Ems speak but i got in first and said, "sorry" as we both walked past.
We both then walked on our merry ways, us with cash still on us - her flicking her ash everywhere

Most of these people are freeloaders who have no pride and no manners. You can't win with them either. If you decline, they'll usually mutter something under their breath and if you do decide to give them something, they won't say thankyou then they'll go up to one of their fellow scroungers further up the road and boast about getting 50p off "some stupid .... down there"
You should have given her a fiver Steve. A packet of fags isn't cheap these days :Cuckoo:
Do you ever give to beggars in the UK or the Philippines?

Do you ever give to beggars in the UK or the Philippines?
If I am feeling happy here in England I may give something to the people on the street but its very rare, if they are not asking for some spare change i give to them, its when they try to block your way asking for it,
Again over in the Phils any young kid that comes up to me after we have come out of somewhere we have eaten i will give them change, and that makes me happy,
The very first time over in the Phils we was in china town in Manila and after eating Ems asked for what we did not eat to be wrapped for take out, i told Ems i will not eat it later, and her reply was its not for you Steve, its for the kids on the streets, and once we had left this little girl came along and off she went with this bag of food and was soon sitting down eating as fast as she could , That brought it home to me, some people may not have much themselves but they will find something for others who have less then themselves

Big difference between begging here and in the Phils. Some people don't have a choice.
Isn't it illegal to give to beggars in the Phils?
