Just about :piss2: off now, just had the 7th brown out in two days :cwm23:. Sitting here trying to fix peoples computers :NoNo: Was about two seconds away from flashing a bios for a customer when the current went off again, would have been awkward trying to tell a customer ive just bricked your computer ffs. :cwm23:

Don't you have a UPS? Surely something compulsory in your line of work?

I suppose some sort of self-sufficiency is getting to be a MUST in the Phils, as we become more and more dependent on electrical gadgets....not matched by improvements to the electricity grid.

Here in Davao City we've had quite a few these past few days. Yes, it's very annoying.
I've told my wife many times to keep her phones etc charged. It's too easy to get caught out.

I have a UPS here in the house. I bought it by mistake in a bundle of other stuff. It's not an expensive one, I think just a couple of thousand Peso, but even so it gives enough time to get a regular generator going or possibly to safely stop any delicate electronic/computer work.

At this time I still do not have any generator but I'm still considering a solar powered one. They're quite pricey but do get some decent promos from time to time.

I always held off as we very rarely suffered brown-outs but recently we've had a fair few small ones of about 1 hour.

Try not to get tempted to buy one of the solar generators "all in one" products.. As you say.they are expensive!
Best to get a couple of 100 watt panels,a battery, charge controller and inverter separately at the fraction of the cost per kw.
Touch wood we have not had a proper brown out for a few months.
