Death of the last Dambuster pilot: Les Munro, one of the final surviving members of 617 Squadron that carried out daring 'bouncing bomb' raids on the Nazis, dies aged 96

Airman flew Lancaster bomber on raid on dams using bouncing bombs
It was hit by Nazi fire over Holland, but he flew his crew home to safety
This year, Munro donated his wartime medals in honour of fallen comrades
The Squadron Leader was a grandfather, councillor, mayor and magistrate
Friend Ron Mayhill, who said his life was 'all about service', said he died this morning in hospital in Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty
