Clearly, there are always going to be those who will adamantly disagree. But in the wake of the current crisis ... :anerikke: ... it seems the ONLY viable solution.

Members' opinions welcomed.

I'm totally happy for everyone to have ID cards-why not we live in a very dangerous age.

Of course we should ALL have them. Only people with something to hide would object.

We already have photo driving licences...complete with name, address and D.O.B. :anerikke:

(Did a change of address on mine with DVLA online the other day...got the new one in the post this morning after only 4 days and no cost ! Well-impressed ! ).

I still have a paper one, only problem was I wanted to get my Philippine license but they would not accept it here, said I had to get it stamped by the Embassy to verify it was authentic. So you can guess what I said about that.:cwm23:

Too true. They don't trust any bugger there.

Then again....look at the (honesty) record of the people running the country. :cwm25:

Of course we should all have ID cards and i don't understand why there was so much uproar about them last time they were going to introduce them

I wouldn't have a problem with ID cards and arrest if you were nabbed without one.It would start bringing some sort of control to the plague of vermin infesting our country

Just add National Insurance and Tax Ref numbers to driving licence style card...job done.

Issued at age 16 onwards ?

Or ... :anerikke: ... since my current *Bus Pass grants access to a number of Public Services - including local libraries - the information you have mentioned, Graham ... could easily be added to *that!
