My wife has just applied for a schengen visa at the Portuguese Consulate in Manchester and was really happy with the service she was given.
Arrived 5 mins before her appointment at 3pm and waited in the room to be seen, within 10 minutes a guy came up and asked my wife for her passport, one photo, copy of marriage certificate, copy of BRP card, copy of my passports photograph page and also my wifes along with flight booking details.
He took them away and within another 10 minutes said everything was in order and visa would be sent out on Monday and if it hadn't been too late today she could of collected it after just 2 hours.
That what I call service and best of all he was a very pleasant chap who even asked us if we had anymore trips planned to Europe in the future so he could give appropriate length of visa we said yes next April he turned around and said ok no problem.
Thumbs up to the Portuguese...:xxgrinning--00xx3:
