:Hellooo: ... nominated 'Good News Story' of The Month!

Yolanda, a golden retriever, dialled 911 (the American equivalent of 999) on a specialised phone ... alerting firefighters to a blaze :devil-smiley-029: in a Philadelphia apartment ... thereby saving the life of her blind owner!

Love stories like this :)

I remember watching a tv show about pets that saved their owners and this cat woke up its owners by licking their face when there was a fire in the house.

I have to say ... I'm rather  and disappointed a nice story like this - with such a happy ending - received only one response, given all the many tales of woe we've grown so accustomed to reading in today's media. :NoNo:

Lovely story Arthur, the reason I didn't pick up on this thread was because of the title, sorry!:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Dogs can be very much in touch with their human partners,
When its thundering out my dog comes up to me with a troubled expression and seems to talk about it.

Ah ... there used to be a radio programme before the early morning weather forecast and the 8 o'clock news; this was away back in my teenage years, and it served as the cue for me leaving the house to catch my bus into Perth for work.

'Pause for Thought'.

:yeahthat:! So it sprang into my mind again when I first spotted this story about the heroic *dog ... and, appropriately, I changed the first word to suit the *context.

Hence "paws"!!
