The trade off of letting 20,000 migrants into the Uk will be any poor British guy who wants to bring his foreign wife to this country :NoNo:

Of course the authorities will never admit it but things are about to get much tougher on the immigration front

Great. Just what us law abiding UK citizens who want to keep our filipino wives/husbands/families with us need.

It is a sad world we live in,
Do you look after number one and if you say thats important , you get called names, best bet is to say nothing and do what you have been doing all your years , it has worked so far

:doh The current immigration laws have nothing to do with the current refugee problem. Immigration laws have been brought in slowly over the last 17 years to put controls in place that never existed before Labour got in in the 90's. over the years they have been refined to be stricter and more expensive. This had ended up with a huge bias between EU immigrants, and non-EU immigrants. The former being able to move freely at no charge. It is the problem with the open borders agreement, signed by the Tories in 92, that ha led to the main influx of millions of EU immigrants.

As Cameron has tried to do but failed, it is impossible to control EU citizens, but controls do work on none EU citizens. No matter what rules are put in place for anything, people will always get caught in a grey area, and it is these the papers pick up on. No, it is not fair, but their are no black and white rules when it comes to immigration. Luckily, immigration does have an appeals process which has proved pretty successful for many, even on here over the years.

Keith, people cant appeal against the £18.600 income level, do you think its right that if i want to be with someone i have to emigrate ??. whereas others can be allowed in with NO questions asked, including so called refugees.

Harry it may be the best thing to do soon, to emigrate , just a thought

The sad fact of life is that this happens in many other countries around the world. Australia is very strict, hence the number of Aussie husband's now living in countries like Thailand. The £18,600 is not right, especially as it has different values across the UK, and people on benefits do not count.

Take a 'gap year', jack the job in, bring over the other half while on benefits, then get another job or start a business.

And why not. Get rid of that crappy chocolate at the same time.

There - I said it, the elephant in the room nobody dares say - Belgian chocolate is way inferior to the UK's Freddo Frogs, overpriced slimy textured tasteless crud :Cuckoo:
