Former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has sought dispensation from the Supreme Court in relation to unfair charges drummed-up against her:

.........................................................:yeahthat:, whilst in incumbency at Malacanang, she had duly proceeded to authorise the payment of "blood money" from funds apportioned to the Philippines' Charity Sweepstakes Office in direct exchange for sparing the life of a fellow Pinay - *a domestic servant scheduled to be executed in Saudi Arabia for killing the employer who'd brutally raped *her.

And RIGHTLY SO! I mean ... :anerikke: ... as the Nation's Commander-in-Chief, at the time of the condemned woman's trial - especially given its outcome - she (GMA) had NO choice, OTHER than to accede to the Saudis' demands. It was, to all intents & purposes, a case of "either pay up :REGamblMoney01HL1: ... or else ...!" :behead:

Damned disgrace ... PCSO's Administrator - as well as each of the other co-accused - were granted a bail bond. But NOT Arroyo. :cwm23:

:nono-1-1: ... her compassion toward a fellow countrywoman has, instead, led to her being detained under 'hospital arrest' - at the behest of her successor - "an act of politically motivated injustice" according to the International Convention On Human Rights.

:23_111_9[1]: ... WHY then - in GOD'S (or whoever's) name - doesn't the ICHR actually DO SOMETHING about this awful state of affairs before Arroyo succumbs to her failing health?
