Hello,
I would be grateful for information about which UK Visa is required for my Filipino daughter-in law. The situation is as follows:
Son (British Citizen) and wife (Filipino Citizen) live and work in Dubai, UAE. They have a baby daughter (British Citizen). They wish to return to the UK to live and work. Son and our baby grand-daughter will be able to live in the UK as they are British Citizens and hold British passports. Our daughter-in-law wishes to live in the UK on an on going basis i.e. not on a visitor visa. She understands that she will not be eligible for a work permit, although I assume that she might be able to work on a self-employed basis?
I'm finding it difficult to wade through the information on the UK Gov Immigration and Visa website including the requirements for medical checks, financial statements, English tests and charges. Not exactly user friendly.
Any advice and help would be gratefully received.

She will need to apply for a Spouse visa...with your son as her sponsor.

With a Spouse visa in her passport, she'll be permitted to work in the UK too.
