Hi.

There is no interview as such.

You just submit your biometrics and the VFS officer will check your submitted documents and take the originals and copies and put them in two separate piles. then they will take them and they will be submitted as your application.

You will only hear from them if they either need more information to clarify something or when they have made a decision.

Thank you so much cheekee, this is my first time to apply for a settlement visa. Last 2014, i already been granted a family visit visa valid for 6 months. Then my in-laws doesnt want me to go back to Philippines ( you know, being a Filipina we are clean/tidy , helpful, obedient, a lot of good qualities and they like me lol) we talked to a solicitor ( a very good one, they said) but he told me i need to go back to Philippines to apply for settlement. All my documents are good for settlement visa, why I applied for a family visit ( me and my husband didn't know about that before, we thought i can apply straight to settlement whilst i am in the uk on a family visit, but nah) so now, all the documents are ready. i am nervous like having butterflies in my stomach or i don't know what to feel, maybe excited ( knowing we have all the requirements ) Maybe I just don't like the feeling of being denied. lol :NoNo:

Just :pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray:

Thank you so much! How long did you receive your result after you submit the docs?

Hi LG , yes i i sorted out all my papers since Nov last year, all i need then was a TB test and Ielts exam, which i already accomplished. Had my TB test done Nov 25 , same day getting the result , and Ielts exam done Dec 3, got the result Dec 15 via courier service. Then just last week I had all the documents (6 mons payslip, support letter from him and from employment ) emailed to me by my husband. I do have everything now, just waiting for the 20th to go VFS. By the way, i started online application at VISa4UK like Sept 17 last year.. I ticked on Settlement for there is no drop-down selection for a HM Forces Dependant in there, I was just advised by AFF to attached a hand-written of VAf and financial form together with my online settlement visa form. Thank you so much. :meet-1:

Mmhm ... *some have waited for 3 months ............. :yeahthat:'s true!
Probably the VFS receptionist you hand over your documents to will spin you the *same story as the woman my wife saw told her when she applied around the same time 7 years ago.

Truth is, VFS don't really know themselves. :NoNo:

But, in the event, my wife and I were BOTH pleasantly surprised :grosyeux: and, of course ... :anerikke: ... needless to say, overjoyed :BouncyHappy: when her visa came a mere 41/2 weeks afterwards!

Hopefully, it'll be the same - or even earlier - for you folks. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Based on feedback of many applicants seems to be working out at around 30 working days
+/- a few

Just to let you know UKVI are now offering a new Priority Visa Service for Settlement visa categories to be be processed within 10 working days.
There's an additional fee of Php 25,920.00 for this.

Just to make you aware that technically all documents should be original.

Some folks have indeed been OK with some scanned documents but there's always a risk, especially with payslips, bank statements and employer letters.
If the ECO feels it's appropriate a request for originals within 10 days will often be made.

Just spend some time over the days you have double-checking everything to ensure full compliance with immigration rules.

Good luck

Hi Terpe, yeah I've got original 5 months payslips and original bank statements, I also included e-mails of my husband with a recent payslip I print-screen that email. Hopefully, they will accept that, but if they will need the original payslip, Im sure my husband can print send it to me. I already told him bout that, so i hope there will be no prob. But we will exert more effort on revising documents :) I got files of printed skypechat, like 900+ pages. lols

Hi Terpe, I would like to ask, what is a credible courier for my husband to send the original documents to the Philippines? One that we can track. Thank you so much.

DHL have been used by many folks here.
They often have a service centre at WH Smith and Staples (your husband will know these outlets)

Don't forget that the date of payslips and bank statements must be dated no earlier than 28 days before the date of application. Means the last payslip & corresponding bank statement dated with the 28 days leading up to application date. If you see what I mean
