We were planning to return to Cubao last night, but as usual we lost track of time and decided to stay over an extra night in Marikina.

That turned out to be a good decision because at around 3pm we received a visit from PLDT Engineers for our new DSL installation.

We did not receive any prior notification that they would turn up. Only in the Philippines :icon_lol:

Anyway the good news is that we now have super fast internet at 5Mbs :laugher:
Plus a landline.
I did all the arranging myself and the contract is in my name.
One of the benefits of my ID's of ACR Permanent Resident, Philippine Driving Licence and Post Office ID

Hooray.
That pocket WiFi is pretty expensive at P20 per hour. Especially if the signal is not good and you spend most of your time waiting for suff to load, then lose connection.

Immediately after the installation we left for Cubao so need to wait until tomorrow or Monday to enjoy some surfing and up to date news.

Life is good.

An end to frustration. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

I remember back in the Phils in 1999/2000, the PC in our house there sometimes took about 30 minutes to download a few pictures... or to open a web page with lots of images.

Normally I'd select 'text only' for my web pages.
