It appears hundreds of British troops are being drafted into these Eastern European countries, to fulfill a NATO pledge to ward~off the possible threat of further *Russian aggression :xxaction-smiley-047 ... following the *latter's annexation of the Crimean peninsula from Ukraine two years' ago.

Since this thread's about the deployment of the British Armed Forces to Poland, etc., it reminds me of a folk song I'd heard a few times in my youth ... albeit with my now changing certain words to tie-in with their present context:

Warsaw the 42nd
Warsaw them gaen awa'?
Warsaw the 42nd
Mairchin' :Kilt::Kilt::Kilt: doon the Broomielaw.

Some o' them hae :NEW4: an' Glock guns :NEW3:
Some o' them ... :anerikke: ... hae nane at a'
Maist o' them hae kilts :Kilt::Kilt::Kilt: 'n' stockins'
Mairchin' :Kilt::Kilt::Kilt: doon the Broomielaw.

Notable modifications are as follows, viz-

Wha saw (who saw) in this case, becomes Warsaw. :crazy:? Aye well, maybe. But then ... :anerikke: ... all of us have our wee eccentricities, and I'm no exception. :biggrin:
