Well another weekend spent together and lots of plans and all went well, we still have this afternoon to sort out but the plans are in place for that.
Yesterday into town to spend on Emma, a new evening outfit for her cruise and shoes to go with it, dinner at Cosmos, and then the rest of the afternoon on the bikes , just over 12 miles ridding into the countryside and back and what a fantastic way to finish of the great day, her are some pictures taken on our bike ride .

Some good shots again Steve.

OMG, Swarkestone Lock. Been there many times.
Years ago of course.
As I recall Shardlow is within striking distance. Stayed there many a time.

In a previous life Derby was a second home to me. I studied for my Phd at Derby Railway Technical Centre London Road

The cycle path is just a street or two from our house in Derby , just jump on that and the path goes to Swarkestone bubble then onto Shardlow or cut of to Melbounre then further away into Tonge, and the tech centre is less then a mile from our house too, Its a small world indeed

So the Technical Centre is still there then ?

Is there much remaining in Derby from the heady time of years gone by when materials went in and finished trains came out ?

I always remember a group of us 'mature students' would have a long lunch and drinks at a place called the Golden Pheasant.

It was a big pub/restaurant. Can't remember where that was, but probably not far from the Technical Centre.

Happy days indeed.

Peter I bet the tech centre has not change one bit, the only difference is half of it is empty,
The golden pheasant yes it's still there too, on the main road from Allenton to chellaston road, I shall have to get some pictures to put on here from those places

When we was kids the golden pheasant was a top quality restaurant, next door to it was a very large house with donkey's kept in the Field, there was many a time we use to tie a scarf around there necks and ride them.
Those was the days,
