Seemingly the ban applies to ALL Russian athletes.

:yeahthat:'s hardly fair on those who (through no fault of their own) are *disabled - few (if ANY) of *whom, I should imagine, will be taking [unauthorised] steroids - yet, they're ALSO getting penalised by being banned! :cwm23:

Only the guilty should be banned even if it was a government conspiracy :Erm:

Ban the lot of them. They are under the umbrella of a cheating government who's sporting body were knowingly breaking the rules. It's not fair on 'clean' athletes.

'fraid I disagree. Look at it this way ... :anerikke: ... we're all under the "same umbrella" - as members of Filipina Roses - but don't go banning the entire membership on account of a few spammers.
:nono-1-1: ... besides which, I'm pretty sure most participating countries are bound to have their share of those already excluded for getting involved with various forms of performance~boosting 'dope' - without needing to impose a blanket ban at the expense of clean athletes.

I don't agree at all. My finger always hovers over the ban button. In the case of the Russians, the doping scandal has been going on so long and all the results from tests cannot be trusted, so they all have to be banned. Otherwise it is not fair. Why have a race where the drugged racer wins, then later it is proved with a test that they are positive for drugs and medals have to be given back and given to the clean athlete. The moment is gone forever for the clean athlete to be presented with his medal at the games for all the world to see.
Ban the lot

IMO we should have 2 separate Olympic games..
One for clean and natural athletes and the other for total jacked up athletes that can take what ever they like whilst training and on the day. (carte blanch)
For one,I would be very interested in the world record times...One jacked up...
The other totally clean.
For the clean games, same testing applies..
Who doesn't want to see the 100 Mtr sprint time in under 8 seconds!!:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Now that would be interesting
The thing is Arthur, although I agree with you about there are clean Russian athletes who are being penalised, the focus of their anger should be with the russian olympic commission who have full responsibility to stick to the rules of Olympic ethics.

Ben Johnson did the 100M in 9.78 drugged up and raring like a raging bull on a kilo of speed...
Usain Bolt did it in 9.58 totally clean.
Imagine Usain jacked up to the 9`s...
Now that would be explosive.. That,I would actually pay to see!
