First I'd learned of his passing was through a facebook posting by
a nephew of mine in Hong Kong; yesterday: "Aw ... poor Manuel!" :cwm25:

Apparently though, he'd actually died on November 23rd - after battling vascular dementia for four years - something else I hadn't heard. :NoNo:

Maybe ... :anerikke: ... the newspaper journos had a lapse of memory! :cwm24:

Sad news indeed.
A real gentleman and a number of talents too by all accounts.

Thrust into the limelight by his clever portrayal of Manuel.

One of the best comedy series ever IMHO
