We are travelling to the Philippines in January and would like to open a joint bank account. My wife closed hers down when she came over here:NoNo:. Is there a bank that does not require a ACR for opening a account? Thanks in advance.

All the banks have different rules, some will some won't. But as you are married I dont think there will be a problem. Your wife would be first name on the account.

Recommend PNB, easy internet banking and remittance, good to see you back:xxgrinning--00xx3:

I agree with jonnijon, each bank is different. It can even depend on different branches.
Try a few and see which ones have the best account(s)
Stick to the major banks. The ones with a good supply of ATM's

Thanks for the advice folks. I have been on different banking websites and it appeared most of them requested a ACR but like you say they are all different. However you would think being married to a Filipina they would welcome your money. I will try PNB and see how it goes. Thanks again.

Try BPI, we have a joint account and I am the lead name, but my wife had an account there for a few years before that. Opened it while we were on holiday one year using her parents address.
Think it made life easier as we have a joint account with BPI London

Thanks scouse. Like I said we will see when we get there. Right now I am just looking forward to getting on that plane. My wife will use her fathers address.
