I was in the hippodrome casino in soho on tuesday, the vast majority inside were orientals and asians,i even saw 2 filipinas, but most of the orientals were chinese, they would gamble on raindrops running down a windowpane,i remember pinas not being atbthe top of the chinese must-go destinations after the manila bus siege when the Hong Kong tourists were killed.

Yep. Chinese folks love to 'gamble'
When I lived in China I remember my group making bets on whether or not I would eat Toad.

I lost. I had a confidence I could eat almost anything but watching the preparations and cooking I backed down at the last minute.

I enjoyed my time there, despite finding it very difficult to find foods I could really feel comfortable.

I would have placed a side bet and eaten the toad  yup, when i was in hong kong i would often go across to macau, the casino destination of choice for most HK chinese hardcore gamblers.I crossed the border from thailand into cambodia last year through poipet, theres a no-mans land containing casinos,it was packed, mainly thai and viet but lots of chinese, they travel to gamble.

Who owns three casinos and thus rakes in the extra profits? One of the big families I guess?

Since DU30`s visit to China, the Chinks have removed the R.P from the advisory caution list!! Great news.
Even before then, most of our customers have been Chinese tourists..They seem to be coming to our little island every month in larger numbers ever since.. I`m now looking frantically on the Web for authentic Chinese noodle recipes.
