I had to go to the doctors the other day and they have referred me to the hospital.
The doctors says i should receive a letter with in two weeks for the appointment and with in 4 days the letter arrived.
Then the next day i received a text on my phone giving me the same details , and yesterday i received another latter from the doctor's giving me the same details too,
So all in all i have been told three times for the same appointment, i know they say the older you get your memory may fade but this is a little silly and at what cost too.

I always receive a phone call exactly a week previous to my appointment, it's cheaper than you not turning up for the appointment:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Well as i have not seen my doctor for ages and the last time i went to a hospital i cannot remember, i dont usually need to see my doctor on a regular basis

Doubt if the text cost anything but I would think the reminders are meant for those who do not turn up for their booked appointments....

Missed appointments cost the NHS a lot more than these reminders to be fair.

Should be finned unless you have a great reason to cancel, i have been given phones numbers to change my appointment time and date if i would like too, so really there is no excuses to ever miss a appointment, unless its too late and you have popped off already :yikes:
