Why the sudden increase in car insurance? Been shopping around for my new car and since last year car insurance has tripled. Every year I shop around for the best deal and it's varied very little the past ten years or more - always around £140 to £160 - but this year the lowest quote was £257 and the highest was a staggering £710. I've always maintained that the clients that have never claimed, the insurance companies should hang on to them by keeping their quote at a steady level instead of forcing them to look elsewhere by increasing the annual quote by a substantial amount. What are your thoughts on this? :Erm:

Stay with your old supplier but cancel first then go back as a new customer, that's if you are needing insurance.
Did you say once or twice you don't need a car as it just sits there and you are returning it once the lease hire has finished as you don't go anywhere?
But we can all change our minds anytime, any place and anywhere.

My old insurer can't insure my new model because it doesn't come up on their database, also road tax of £140 is on what normally would have been a zero rated car, the emissions regulation has changed, talk about moving the goalposts:Erm:

The tax for new cars changed a few months ago. Thought you were getting rid of your car Michael as you didn't use it :Erm:
