There was a knock at our door this morning. "Hi", said one of two callers - a man and a woman - who stood on the doorstep, "we're Jehovah Witnesses."

"Come on in", I greeted the pair ... my expression [doubtless] more of a grimace  than a welcoming smile. "So, what's your latest line of patter then?" :cwm25:

":Erm: ... d'damned if I know", the first visitor stammered, shaking his head while registering the look of shock :grosyeux: on his companion's face, :nono-1-1: ... "this hasn't ever happened to us before!"

My Cousin visits my Grandads house some days when she drops her son at school as his house is just around the corner. my Grandad used to always give the Jehovah witnesses a couple of pound in exchange for their watchtower publication when they knocked at his door, then give it to my cousin to read :icon_lol:
Lately he's been inviting them in, telling my Cousin he's just nipping to the shop and leaving her with them.... problem is he is gone for a few hours.... My cousin doesn't particularly care to speak to them either :icon_lol:

The last time I came across JW's was in the Philippines. Me and Pampanga Maria were the only people at Patar Beach in Pangasinan early one morning when about a dozen of them from Dagupan sat next to us. They half-heartedly attempted to do their thing but I politely stated my disinterest and to be fair, they didn't force the issue, not like the jerks back home. They actually changed the subject. :icon_lol:

About 27 years ago I did two years bible study with Jehovahs Witnesses and they are the nicest people I've ever met in my life, the reason I pulled out was because I found it hard to live up to their standards but I learned a lot, great experience. :xxgrinning--00xx3:
