Hello all
Just came back from our annual excursion to see the outlaws and their hangers on in Bicol and while we were staying in our condo in Manila we were introduced to Grab cab. In the past we stood on the street trying to flag a passing taxi down and trying not to get ripped off and hope the aircon worked. But now there is Grab cab a Filipino version of Uber. With an app on a smartphone you can get a ride with ease and at a fair price. The SM malls actually have a Grab cab counter. Just book your ride at the counter and in less than 15 minutes, in my six times of using the service, a brand new shiny car turns up and takes you to where you want and for a fair price. One of the cars was a brand new Toyota saloon with less than 100km on the clock and still with the new car smell!.. It is too good to be true in the Fil so it cannot last!
Other other thing is I always had to drink San Mig or overpriced Imported beer. But now SM (even in Sorsogon) stock Tiger beer which is what I drink here in the UK.......74 pesos for a 600ml bottle........£1.50 in the supermarkets here...............Happy days I bought three boxes.
