Perched high in a hotel suite - 32 floors above the Mandalay Bay Strip in Las Vegas - the gunman opened fire :NEW4: on concertgoers at the venue opposite, killing 59 people ... and injuring at least 527 others.

:cwm25: ... what posessed a 64~year-old retired accountant to commit an act of such carnage?

:yeahthat:'s something we're unlikely to ever know ... :anerikke: ... due to police later discovering lone sniper :NEW4: Stephen Paddock dead in his hotel room.

:grosyeux: ... was she really? McVeigh's too? :yikes: ... never knew that! :NoNo:

Well, if Paddock hadn't "topped" himself, chances ARE he'd have [eventually] met the same fate as the 'Oklahoma Bomber' - albeit courtesy of the State of Nevada.

Mcveighs lady was from Cebu.Stepehn Paddock's lady flew in to the states from the PI several hours ago and was escorted off the plane by FBI agents, she is described as a "person of interest".

Apparently the Pinay girlfriend of his was married to two guys at the same time and had her fingers in all types of scams.

The 2nd amendment needs to be amended, people with common sense know that, but try convincing the rest of them.

His girlfriend also had two separate social security numbers for some odd reason :Erm:

I`m 99% sure she is guilty of nothing... She should also be allowed to keep the money if the source of funds were legitimate..Pretty sure he had sent her more cash previously in 10K batches.
Her return to the States speaks for itself IMO.

I think she might be guilty of bigamy fred, several sources are reporting she is married to two separate guys and why have 2 separate social security numbers,i don't think for a minute she has anything to do with the shootings however, the story is strange, theres a pic of paddock dead with no sign of the large 13 tattoo he has on his neck while alive?

He had 1600 rounds of ammo in his car, thats a lot of brass for an individual, police think he planned to escape and they are working on the assumption he had help of some sort or another I saw a 30 minute interview with his brother yesterday, maybe its the enormity of the act but the brother came across as odd.

You think that could be the reason? I don't. After all, he did wire her a whole bunch of wonga prior to his killing spree.

Actually, do they know for certain it was him who commited the murders? It could be someone else - and he killed Paddock as well to make it look like a mass murder cum suicide. :anerikke:

When looking for an explanation of why the United States continues with its crazy gun laws, sometimes a movie can reveal truths that are less easy to see in newspapers and tv news. A while back, I saw "The Heat" on television. It's a fairly standard comedy starring two cops; Sandra Bullock is Harvard educated and a bit of a know-it-all, Melissa McCarthy is rough and street-wise. Over time, they come to respect each other's guts and competence, and they bring down a drug gang with an all-action finish. There's one part where McCarthy's character shows Bullock her apartment, which has a faulty door lock and is in a rough area. Bullock asks "aren't you worried about break-ins?" McCarthy laughs and shows Bullock a big cupboard which contains several large calibre pistols, pump action shot guns, machine guns and a box full of hand grenades. To a U.S. audience this is clearly intended to be hilariously amusing. If she had held up a jiu-jitsu black belt, something that took skill and courage to earn, something that would have given the bad guys a beating but not left them dead, that would have been funny. Until that attitude changes, the same problems will continue.

Interesting that his Filipina partner was found to have deleted chunks of her social media profile an hour or so before he began his rampage?:Erm:
